By: Dra. Esmeralda Mora Román

Catalina misses her deceased father and wishes to honor his life with a traditional celebration of the Day of the Dead. However, her mother wants to keep her safe and away from harm. To ensure her daughter stays home while she is working, Catalina’s mother, Elena, shares a chilling story about a monster called el Cucuy that preys on disobedient children. Join Catalina and her mother during their Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico and explore the rich culture and enduring traditions of this festive occasion.

Featuring a tightly controlled vocabulary of under 600 unique words, rich in word families and cognates, this book is ideal for building confidence in intermediate learners.
